Cantufind.com is the largest independent family safe search directory on the internet and second largest in link content only to The Open Directory, there is a difference though, we have a far stricter policy in place when it comes to accepting sites into our directory so for your convenience we've placed a guideline below.   Following these should prevent you from being declined.

Types of Listing

We offer two types of listing within the Cantufind directory, both are subject to the strictest of editorial review, you can take a look at the guidelines below to see the differences and to help you establish if your likely to be accepted for listing.

Standard Review

*   A one time fee of only $49.99.  It is important to note this is not a fee for listing but a fee for reviewing your site for possible inclusion.

*   Standard review of your site usually takes place within 24-72 hours, this can largely depend on the workload of your allocated editor.

*   Currently the review schedule is at about 3-8 days but could be slighlty longer.

*   If accepted, your listing will appear below all Preferred listings regardless of alphabetical or PageRank status.

*   Delays in listing is strictly dependant on category workload however it is rare we take longer than 5 days.

   nb:   you are not guaranteed a listing, you are guaranteed a review, if you fail to get included you entitled to appeal (see below).

Preferred Review

*   An annually recurring fee of just $69.00 gets you an expedited review by a senior editor.

*   Guaranteed web site review within 48 hours!

*   Optimized Description which can include keywords of your choice.

*   Extra Keywords to your listing, our editors will install extra keywords for you to enable better search results.

*   Your listing will appear above all standard listings for one full year if accepted and each year thereafter.

*   We will (if necessary) create a sub category of your choice to better suit your site or service.

*   Preferred listings have a CPR at an average of 3.9%

By using Cantufind.com in any way you are agreeing to comply with these terms, which we may update without notice and encourage you to check back here at any time.  To use Cantufind.com, you must be legally competent to enter a binding agreement..

Sites that will not be accepted under any circumstance:

*   Any site that contains any direct or indirect access to pornographic material. See: (Sex Shops)

*   Any site that contain racist material, or material likely to incite or cause offence to the general public.

*   Any Site that contains overuse and or unecessary use of abusive language in any context other than in educational format.

*   Any site containing access to illegal software or Warez or sites that offer illicit use of peer to peer software.

*   Any site that contains information relating to hacking, phreaking, Spamming or any other illegal activity.

*   Any site that offers access to any of the above content.

*   Any site that contain overuse of irrelevant linking in an attempt to gain popularity.

Other submissions we will not consider.

*   Personal websites that are likely to be a temporary site or is of what is deemed as inferior quality.

*   Sites with a sub-page. For example www.anysite.com/subpage.html unless it has significant differences.

*   Sites with a load of totally irrelevant links pages.

*   Sites found to be submitted by automated means, We have measures in place to identify if this happens.

*   Search engine marketing companies must advise us if they are submitting a clients site.

What we will also not review.

*   Any Site that has been submitted anonymously.

*   All sites are required to have a qualified e-mail address that receives an auto-response that does not bounce.

*   No sites submitted with unidentifiable e-mail addresses such as xyxyxyxy@xyxyxyxy.com

*   No site submitted more than once in any single day.  Multiple submissions will automatically be blacklisted without notice.

*   Any site found submitting multiple submissions may also be posted on our blacklist board.

(We send out Reponses randomly and without warning. We only ask for a genuine e-mail address to validate that the submission to our directory is solicited. *   We NEVER give out the e-mail addresses to any third party! *)

What we look for.

*   Relevant content on the site.  (If you say you sell apparel then you must sell apparel.)

*   Speed of loading Sites should load within 8 seconds maximum, significantly slower and we won't review it.

*   Design of site, your website should ideally cater for the majority of browsers.

*   Accuracy of meta tags and description of website contents.

*   Quality content your site has the more chance you have of being listed.

*   Shopping sites that offer services that are qualified by good independent testimonials.

*   Educational websites are especially welcomed.

The purpose of this directory is to provide the best of the web and not necessarily the most of the web!  We aren't interested in being the biggest directory on the internet, but we are interested in being the best and certainly the safest.    We don't just say we review sites, we really do and we re-review without notice.   If you have any questions regarding your privacy, please contact us at ensuring you check 'Privacy'.

Other tips to enhance your chance of listing, and staying listed.

*   Accurate description in your submission and a complete form. *   Only submit once every four (4) weeks. More than this might be viewed as Spamming. *   Informing us of changes to your website contents.

Please remember, we re-review on a very regular basis and reserve the right to delete your entry without notice if we find the contents to have changed radically without notice to our editors.  Please note that Payment is for review only and is non refundable except for preferred listings which are not accepted; processing fees will be deducted.

The right to appeal.

If you find you have not been listed in a reasonable period of time then you have the right to contact us Appeals.  We are not obligated to enter into any correspondence with regards to a declined site however we will endeavour to work with you to get you listed and where possible will work with you to get your site to meet our criteria.

We don't apologise for being strict in our criteria, it is an effort to provide only the best of the internet not the most as we feel will suit our audience who are primarily families.  Refusal does not necessarily mean your site is of poor quality or in any other detrimental fashion, it is merely a matter of opinion whether we feel you meet our criteria and we will always have a good valid reason for not accepting a submission.
